“Humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save you” — James 1:21

We believe in the power of the Word of God. Memorise was built to help you know it deeply, carry it with you daily, and let it shape how you live.
Spaced repetition and active recall are the most effective ways to build long-term memory. Memorise applies these principles so you review Scripture at the right time, every time.
Pick a verse and Memorise handles when and how you review it. The app fades into the background so Scripture takes centre stage.
Using God’s design to learn God’s design.
The world’s understanding of memory is accelerating. Memorise takes the latest research in how the brain retains information and applies it directly to Scripture.

Select any verse or passage you want to memorise. Start with one, or build a collection.

Memorise uses cloze recall to test your memory actively. Words are removed and you fill them in, strengthening the connection each time.

Spaced repetition schedules your reviews at the optimal moment — right before you’d forget. Over time, verses move from short-term memory into deep, lasting knowledge.

About us
We built Memorise because we believe the Word of God should be planted deeply in every heart. Not just read. Not just studied. Known.
We saw a gap. Christians want to memorise Scripture, but the tools haven’t been there. So we built one. Memorise combines proven cognitive science with a deep reverence for God’s Word to make Bible memorisation something anyone can do, every day.
This is a labour of love. We’re a small team with a big conviction, and we’d love to hear from you.
Memorise is a Bible memorisation app for iOS that uses spaced repetition (FSRS) and active recall (cloze testing) to help you commit Scripture to long-term memory. You select the verses you want to learn, and the app handles when and how you review them.
Spaced repetition is a learning technique where you review information at increasing intervals over time. The principle is to review right before you would forget. Memorise uses the FSRS algorithm to track your progress and schedule each verse at the optimal time for retention.
Cloze recall means removing words from a verse and asking you to fill them in from memory. It is one of the most effective ways to strengthen recall because it forces your brain to actively retrieve the information rather than passively re-read it.
Pricing depends on your App Store region. In the United States, the subscription is USD $3 per month or USD $30 per year. In New Zealand and Australia, it is NZD/AUD $5 per month or NZD/AUD $50 per year. The annual plan saves approximately two months versus paying monthly. Both plans give full access — no tiers, no feature gates, no limits. Cancel anytime through the App Store.
Memorise is currently available on iOS only (iPhone, requires iOS 17 or later). We would love to bring it to Android in the future and will let our community know as soon as that changes.
A typical verse, with consistent daily practice, reaches the app’s “memorised” threshold in approximately two weeks. Memorise’s internal definition of memorised is when the FSRS algorithm predicts you will still recall the verse 30 days later at 85% retrievability — a stricter standard than most spaced repetition apps. Shorter verses can be retained faster; longer passages take longer.
Yes. You can add individual verses, longer passages, or full chapters. Memorise breaks them down and schedules reviews so you build up to knowing the full text over time.
